Lessons From Celtic Mythology | Five Triads From Ancient Welsh Bards About Being a Brilliant Leader of a Great Land

Leadership of a Country

Ancient Welsh Bards may have used the Triads as pneumonic aid for storytelling, but often, the Triads imparted wisdom. The Triads preserved and transmitted memorable cultural knowledge, stories, and values. They provide valuable insights into the society, beliefs, and traditions of the time. Just as the Welsh Bards did, I feel an obligation as a modern writer to call attention to some of history’s great lessons, particularly when they seem relevant.

Three Duties of a Sovereign: Protect the land and its people. Uphold justice and fairness. Ensure the prosperity and well-being of the community.

Three Pillars of Justice: Law and order. Compassion and empathy. Wisdom and knowledge.

Three Qualifications of a Ruler: Wisdom to lead with insight. Courage to face challenges and adversity. Integrity to act with honesty and moral principles.

Three Signs of Good Government. Peace and security for all. Economic prosperity and stability. Equal rights and opportunities for every member of society.

Three Things that Preserve a Nation: Wise and just leadership. Strong and fair laws. The unity and cooperation of its people.

If you agree with what being a brilliant leader of a great land entails, please pass this on to your friends. I can think of a great number of federal and state officials that would improve their leadership greatly if they would adopt these principles.
